Value Delivered

KDC Inc., (formerly known as Dynalectric L.A.), was integral to the team that installed one of the largest flying truss grid systems in the United States that can move up and down.

The one-of-a-kind tension grid incorporates power-operated curtains that allow Long Beach Arena to transform into a variety of spaces, helping to make it a premier location for sporting events, concerts, trade shows, receptions, and many other special events.

We were able to fast track our services to meet the City of Long Beach’s rigorous schedule.

Client Objectives

The City of Long Beach wanted to repurpose and renovate the Long Beach Arena, and they needed comprehensive electrical services within a tight timeline.

Solutions

Using two catwalks at 120-foot elevation, KDC Inc. installed conduit, switchgear, and theatrical lighting.

To supply power to all the curtain motors and lighting control panels, we installed a 3000-amp, 120/208-volt switchboard for distribution to ten 200-amp, 120/208-volt sub-panels along the catwalk.

Our solutions allow the 45,000-square-foot convention center floor to be precisely illuminated with fully-integrated LED lighting.
